Hollywood Park Releases Final Stakes Schedule

Could anything interesting ever emerge from recombining the Kim Kardashian DNA of the two? Thats where a game such as GTA V breaks through. Its tempting to front page think of it as an open-ended movie: its written and directed by storytellers skilled in the cinematic form and produced by an expert group of visual designers. In that sense it feels Kardashian like a big movie production. As the scale and complexity of these games increase -- and as our ability to simulate and render nuance and emotion and ambiguity increases - - these games are starting to verge on something entirely new.
Source:

Rarely do domestic movies attract an international audience -- and even Chinese moviegoers have shown lukewarm interest in local offerings. Although a quota of just 34 foreign films can be shown in the country each year, these made up more than half of Chinese box office sales last year. However, the first half of 2013 showed a reversal. Ticket sales for Chinese films more than doubled those of the same period the year before, surpassing foreign films for the first time in five years. At the end of June the Chinese movie "Tiny Times", which depicted the daily life of wealthy Chinese youth, defied expectations by overtaking Hollywood blockbuster "Man of Steel". But its international success remains in question. Chinese movies deserve attention if only because the number of moviegoers homepage is so large, said Hawk Koch, a former president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which runs the Oscar awards.
Source:

Fall Movie Preview: 16 Oscar Contenders To Watch For

‘Insidious: Chapter 2,’ movie review

Rose Byrne in Insidious: Chapter 2 The reasons for the switch are seen, too. But first Joshs wife Renai (Rose Byrne, in a thankless role) has to suss out where the new bumps and creaks in the house are coming from. She also wonders whats making Josh act so strange and why their infant baby seems to be a target for evil poltergeist. Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell build a convoluted mousetrap, and occasionally it works. One big reveal in the third act is a time-trippy, house-of-mirrors moment that stands as the only real payoff in the film.
Source:

The King's Speech star Colin Firth is to voice Paddington Bear in a Hollywood film about the adventures of the duffle-coat-wearing Peruvian, media reports said on Friday.AFP/File LONDON (AFP) The King's Speech star Colin Firth is to voice Paddington Bear in a Hollywood film about the adventures of the duffle coat-wearing Peruvian, media reports said on Friday. The Oscar-winning actor, a heartthrob to many after his wet shirt scene as Mr Darcy in the BBC's "Pride and Prejudice", told the Daily Mail newspaper Kim Kardashian in a thong he would voice the bear in a film combining live action with computer-generated images (CGI). Australian Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman will play the villain in the movie spearheaded by David Heyman, the producer of the Harry Potter movies. "Paddington will be computer generated, and I will speak his lines with, I suspect, a slight Peruvian flavour," Firth, 53, told the Mail. "Every other character in the film will be real, live human beings. "But the idea is that Paddington will have something of me in his DNA because I???m going to do some sessions wearing one of those helmets with cameras to capture my face muscles, and all that data will somehow be incorporated into Paddington." The hairy marmalade-eater made his first appearance in 1958 in Michael Kim Kardashian thong Bond's book A Bear Called Kim Kardashian reggie bush Paddington, in which the Brown family find him sitting in Paddington train station, having made his way there from "darkest Peru". The family adopt the bear -- who carries an old hat, a suitcase and a sign reading "Please Look After This Bear" -- and he goes on to have 20 books' worth of adventures.
Source:

And, of course, James Caan in "Back in the Game," Greg Kinnear in the midseason "Rake" and Queen Latifah on her own talk show. FULL COVERAGE: Fall TV Preview 2013 The shift is fueled in part by simple employment issues. In case you hadn't heard, the film industry is having a tough time producing anything other than franchise fodder and Oscar bait, while high-production scripted television is busting out all over. Actors will tell you they follow the stories, and it's past arguing that some of the best stories are being told on television. But actors and writers and directors, like most of population, also follow the love. And right now, audiences are in love with television. Truly, madly, deeply, and in ways difficult to sustain in film or the theater. Episodic television is regularly deconstructed in a way once reserved for Shakespeare or the Romantic poets.
Source:,0,1067273.story

With J.C. Chandor, the young filmmaker behind 2011s riveting financial-crisis dramaMargin Call, directing, Cannes critics hailed the movies daringly minimalist ethos and Redfords " tour de force performance ." Watch a trailer here . The Counselor October 25 The last couple of times Pulitzer Prize winner Cormac McCarthys work made it to the big screenwith the Academy Award-winning 2006 adaptation of his novel No Country for Old Men and 2009 adaptation of his chilling The RoadREM cycles all over America were subsequently interrupted by quietly spooky, minimalist, dystopian nightmares. So now that hes trying his hand at an original screenplay, a thriller about a lawyer (Michael Fassbender) who gets in a jam when he teams up with a drug dealer (Javier Bardem, in his second role as a McCarthy villain) and attempts to sell $20 million worth of cocaine, the results could be disturbing in the very best of ways. As Slates Sharan Shetty put it , The Counselor is a cinematic dream team kind of project. Directed by Ridley Scott, it co-stars Bardem, Brad Pitt, and Penelope Cruzthe four of whom have a total of nine Oscar nominations between themplus Cameron Diaz and Breaking Bads Dean Norris. Watch a trailer here . Enders Game November 1 Fans of Orson Scott Cards canonical work of young-adult science fiction have, lately, had reason to fear for its film adaptations success. Cards views on homosexuality have drawn loud protests and boycott calls, which that doesnt reflect on the movies quality but does lend the proceedings an unhappy air.
Source:

But the scary stuff never really got scary, at first coming off as a bit campy and then getting just plain boring as it was repeated over and over. Nice blood and guts shots but it was disappointing that Buster wasnt a scarier clown learn more and really didnt even make much of an appearance as a monster until the end of the film. Acting was disappointing other than Forsythe who was wonderful as both a loveable clown and a spook. There just wasnt enough of him to save the film, particularly without supporting acting. Sets, costuming, camera work, sound, and special effects were all nicely done throughout. Dialogue was lacking, coming off as campy and just plain annoying at times.
Source:

In this much classier, much smarter British twist on The Brady Bunch, they play Alan and Celia, childhood sweethearts who reconnect via Facebook some 60 years later and realize they've never fallen out of love. Their determination to start a new life together delights them while shocking their children, who among other objections get caught up in the class distinctions between their two families.
